This sculpture is comprised of 35 books, letterpress printed on the flat part of the page in such a way that the fore-edges of each individually bound book comprise a line of Mary Jo Bang’s poem. Each book/line was bound with perfect binding and a paste-paper spine. In an edition of 2, The Circus Watcher stands 22 1/4″ tall on a 4″ x 7″ base and is held in a custom-made acrylic case.
