B is for Beckett

Limited Edition Book
A collaboration with Mary Jo Bang

When Mary Jo and I were looking at the product of our first project together, The Circus Watcher, I mentioned to her that I would like to make a book of an entire poem, but that would mean having a one-line poem, to which Mary Jo responded, “I have one, “B is for Beckett,” which is from her previously published book, “The Bride of E” Mary Jo’s abededarian poems published by Graywolf Press in 2009.

The spine holds the title, “B is for Beckett,” and the head, foot, and foredges contain the complete poem, which reads, “There is so little to say.”

Ten copies printed on 87 sheets (per book) of Mohawk Superfine Ultra White double thick 120 lb cover weight paper, perfect bound with a printed spine of Cave Paper walnut-dyed flax, this book is finished with a sheet of lead on the front cover that has been hand stamped with the title, publisher and date. The books measure 8.25 inches x 8.25 inches and are numbered and sign by the poet, winner of the National Book Critics Circle Award.

$1400.
